“Because I believe food should be enjoyed among friends and family in a relaxed and open atmosphere, I’ve set up Tom’s Kitchen to embody just that.
To me, food is not just about what we eat, it defines our values, health, status, environment, as well as our culture, politics and economy. We are all becoming more aware of food and the role it plays in our lives. It plays and touches us all in very different ways. Sometimes it gets too wrapped up in these things, but the real essence of Tom’s Kitchen is that food is for everyone and anyone; it's about the enjoying food with friends and family as a social occasion, or just on your own.
Food has the most important values to me. I believe it’s at its best when it’s fresh and seasonal. When it’s produced close to home or locally sourced from people I know and trust. We all have a picture in our minds from a time when we were young and having dinner or lunch with our family and friends, and there was laughter, smiling, love and of course, great food. If I can capture a little of that within Tom’s Kitchen then we would have succeeded in making people realise just how important the role of food is in our now busy lives. Food makes the world go round, and food is central to our lives all of us. We are, after all, the food we eat.”
Hope to see you soon,
Tom
